|
After ‘Sarkar Raj’, ‘Gandhi My Father’, and Samir Karnik’s ‘Heroes’, it’s time for another Bollywood flick to be included in Oscar Library. The library preserves selected scripts from around the world, which remain available for research works for the film students, filmmakers, artists and film enthusiasts. The film is not only critically acclaimed but also considered as one of the biggest hits of this year. Not only in India, the film has done a pretty good business overseas. The film has also been showcased at the Indian Visions Indian Film Festival at Washington. Rock On!! stars Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Shahana Goswami, and Luke Kenny. Director Avishek Kapoor and producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are very happy with the new feather on their cap. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani comments on this honour, “It's a great high for me that the script of our first film in association with Big Pictures has found a place in the Oscar Library. We got overwhelming reactions from across the board and now the news of the script going to the Oscar library. Can't get better than this.” The makers of the film have received a letter from Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Gregory Walsh, the Script Librarian says, “The script will be part of the permanent script collection and will be made available for research to only actors, students, filmmakers and writers who are part of the regular patrons. The script will not be allowed to be circulated outside the library premises or photo-copied”. Truly, Indian cinemas are gradually making their way into Hollywood and that too in a rocking style.
