Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, a tough job for designers

‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ is a film based on a kleptomaniac Delhi-based thief. Apart from the thief, there are a Sikh father, a gangster, a veterinary doctor, and a college going girl-next door. Dibakar Banerjee, who has made the hilarious ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ is the helmsman of the comedy flick. The protagonist of the film is a thief, whose character is inspired by the life story of Delhi-based "super thief" Bunty, whose motto in life was to be famous by any means. Bunty’s character has been portrayed by Abhay Deol. Paresh Rawal will be seen in three different avatars, a Sikh, a gangster, and a veterinary doctor. Neetu Chandra is playing the character of a regular college going girl.

Now coming down to the styling of this starcast, the fashion designer duo, Manoshi Nath and Rushi Sharma had a tough time while giving the desired looks to the characters. The twosome actually walked down the streets of the capital of India to take snaps of the people who suited the characters of ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’.

According to the designer duo, Abhay Deol’s styling has been done keeping in mind the real thief Bunty with cheap leather jackets, fake branded jeans and t-shirts, and shoes and sunglasses bought from ‘Chor Bazar’. But the most difficult challenge in front of them was to dress up Paresh Rawal, in three different characters. For Namdhari Sikh, Paresh has been given gaudy jackets, high-waist baggy jeans and artificial Reebok shoes. As a gangster, he has worn a wig, jewelry and a red stole. In the character of a vet, he has normal attires like regular shirts, pants, coats and a cravat. Neetu Chandra has been styled with everything that a normal college girl wears ranging from a salwar-suit to jeans-T-shirt.

‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ has been released on November 28.
