We have heard of the phrase, ‘old wine in new bottle’, but something like ‘old wine in shocking bottle’ would be a bit uncanny to describe a film, which is also a modernized adaptation of a classic novel. Sarat Chandra Chattyopadhaya’s novel, Devdas has been presented in celluloid many a time. Legendary actors like Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan portrayed the character of Devdas. Another actor, Shiney Ahuja is going to do the role of Debdas in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Aur Devdas’. Now it’s time to watch another Devdas in silver screen. It’s Anurag Kashyap’s Devdas, 'Dev D' in the backdrop of the modern era. It stars Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol.

Kalki Koechlin is the girlfriend of director Anurag Kashyap. And the role she has been doing is that of Chandramukhi’s, who is a seductress. But what’s the shocking part? Kalki Koechlin is doing something unconventional for the promos of the film. She will do dirty talks to the callers on a chat-line called Lustline. The promos of the film would display a number, to which any caller can make a call to do lusty talks with Kalki. Kalki would talk with her caller through various languages like Hindi, English, Tamil and French. Besides that she will also be available online.

The unique idea of promotion is the invention of UTV Motion Pictures, the producers of ‘Dev D’.
