Movie- Dil Kabaddi |
|
Starring- Director- Anil Senior ‘Dil Kabaddi’ is a sex comedy based on the mundane lives of married couples. Samit played by Irrfan Khan and Mita, played by Soha Ali Khan are playing the protagonists. Samit is a sex maniac and wants his partner to be wild enough to drive him crazy on bed, while his wife Mita is a cosmetic surgeon who is very tender by nature and enjoys the subtle romantic moments of love rather than wild sex in bed. Basically Samit and Mita are poles apart. Coming down to another married couple, Rishi, played by Rahul Bose and Simi, played by Konkona Sen Sharma come from their own worlds. Rishi is a professor but fantasies with a teen student of him, Raga, played by Saba, while Simi falls for a young art director, played by Rahul Khanna. Simi in turn plays the role of cupid between Veer and Mita. On the other hand, Irrfan gets attracted with a sexy Yoga teacher, played by Payal Rohatgi. Basically, ‘Dil Kabaddi’ is a sex comedy, based on conjugal relationships, but it shows more interest in sex rather than relationships. It starts well, but at the mid-way, it falls into pitfalls, which leaves the flick with neither sex nor comedy and turns up as an extra-marital sex comedy of tangled lives. The driving force of the film is Irrfan Khan, and Soha Ali Khan, though Konkona and Rahul Bose are also good. Payal Rohatgi in the character of a less-brain bombshell is good. Rahul Khanna seems to be reluctant all through the film. All in all, ‘Dil Kabaddi’ (read Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan) is worth watching but if you find your money and time to be totally wasted don’t blame me.
