The item topped the bidding at a Profiles in History auction held Thursday, according to a press release Friday. In total bidders paid around $3.5 million for more than 500 items of Hollywood memorabilia. The second most expensive item in the auction was a droid helmet from "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" which sold for $120,000. Other major items included an original handwritten manuscript of the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice", and a full-sized animatronic primate from the movie "Mighty Joe Young", both of which sold for $96,000 each. A Wolverine black leather battle-suit from "X-Men" sold for $90,000 and a custom-built version of a 1937 Mercedes German staff car from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" went for $76,000. The costume worn by Marlon Brando when he played Jor-El in "Superman: The Movie" went for $72,000. Light sabres were the weapon of choice for Jedi knights of Star Wars fame.
