It’s about losing and gaining weight

Characterization is so important now in Bollywood that actors are altering their looks for the sake of their respective roles. The trend setter is Aamir Khan. He used to try different looks for different films. Now the actors even go on to gain or loss weight for the characters they are playing. Abhishek Bachchan put on a couple of kgs for Mani Ratnam’s Guru while he has to put off 14 kgs for the latest unnamed venture of Mani Ratnam. Aishwrya Rai had to gain some waight for Gurinder Chadda’s Bride and Prejudice and she again had to loss several kgs for Dhoom 2. Talented actress Vidya Balan had to go slim and trim to fit with Shahid Kapoor in Kismat Konnection. We all know about the much talked size zero of Kareena Kapoor. She got the zero-sized look for her over-glamorous character on Tashan. Now the new entrant of the league is R Madhavan.

R Madhavan has been cast in Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, a celluloid version of Chetan Bhagat’s best seller Five Point Someone. According to the sources, not only Madhavan, all the leading actors of the film Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan will have to loss few kgs, as they all have to look like IIT students. One of the members of the crew of 3 Idiots says, “Aamir will lose some of that aggressively muscular look that he has acquired for Ghajini. He needs too look leaner and more athletic, as he did in Dil Chahta Hai. Playing a student at 40-plus won't be difficult for Aamir. He has done so in Rang De Basanti with great success. Sharman doesn't need to lose any weight. He looks completely in character. Madhavan needs to look more toned”, while Madhavan went to the UK to loss a couple of kgs. He says, “My sister lives here in Ashford and there're very good health clinics here. Whenever I need to change around my metabolism or rework my physique for a role I head for Ashford. And at the moment I'm re-working my physique to look like a student.”

Well, Maddy, you should loss some kgs only to gain your much-forgotten cuteness.
