Movie- Roadside Romeo |
|
Starring- Director- Jugal Hansraj Roadside Romeo is the first animated film of Yashraj Films with the collaboration of Walt Disney. During the prolonged period of the last six months, the promotions of the film are on the air. The dazzling unconventional promos made us think that only the animated flick can save the colossus ship of Yash Chopra. But the film comes out to be an animated version of the same predictable and conventional Bollywood films. Roadside Romeo is a story of a street dog, Romeo. He is brought up in a family which leaves him after they have moved to London. Brought up in a homely atmosphere, Romeo fails to understand the street lingo. Gradually he makes some friends in street and with them opens a salon. Romeo falls in love with Laila, voiced by Kareena Kapoor, whom Charlie Anna, voiced by Javed Jaffrey eyes for. Charlie Anna is an over weight local goon, who is a mongrel of south Indian origin. One day, Romeo is asked for a dance in front of everyone by Laila in a club. This is not a cup of tea, because the local goon Charlie desires Laila and anyone who comes any closer to Laila will be severely beaten. But Romeo can go any extent to win the love of Laila. Now enters Charlie but Romeo knows the trick, he promises Charlie that he will win the lady’s love for Charlie, but never intend to lose Laila. Romeo goes on with this two-timing until Charlie's chamcha catches him red-handed. But at the end of the story, love conquers every odd. The characterization of the film is funny. The friends of Romeo bring life to the animation. Jugal fraught some typical Bollywood sequence in the film, the famous train scene of DDLJ and the real life sequence where Romeo shows his left hand where he tattoos Laila’s name. All in all, the movie must leave an appeal to the kids. Posted by subhasis on Friday Oct 31 reply Comments |
