Abhay is playing a high-flying thief

The cousin of Deol brothers, Abhay Deol started his acting career with low-budget film ‘Socha Na Tha’ with Ayesha Takia. Since then Abhay has acted in six films, Ahista Ahista, Honeymoon Travels PVT LTD, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Manorama- Six Feet Under, and Meridian. All these films have been directed by debutant directors, and through all these flicks Abhay has got a little recognition, though his acting potentiality has been discovered. Abhay Deol is very hopeful about his forthcoming film, 'Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye' which is based on an aspiring thief and genuinely feels that this film will change his fortune completely. The film is directed by ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ famed Dibarkar Banerjee.

The aspiring star quotes “People will relate to 'Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye' and to my character in the film, who comes from a lower middle class background and chases money and fame through dubious means. In the film, the protagonist Lucky wants to become rich and famous by crooked means.”

When he was asked if he has gone through some preparation for the role, he says, "I participated in a workshop which I normally do before the start of my films. It helps you to prepare the background of a character."

Speaking about his filmy family, he comments, “I knew that I would be compared to Uncle (Dharmendra), Bhai (Sunny Deol) and Bobby. But it is important to have some sort of individuality…When I look back to the kind of work I have done, I find some similarities with uncle's earlier films like 'Bandini', 'Satyakam' and 'Chupke-Chupke',”

In addition to a different story, the film has Paresh Rawal in three different roles. 'Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye' will hit the theatres on November 28.
