Big B earlier commented on his blog that he had condemned the terrorist act in Mumbai saying, “The entire day has been spent in front of the TV and watching in anguish and in anger the proceedings on the streets of Mumbai...My pain has been the sight and plight of my innocent and vulnerable and completely insecure countrymen, facing the wrath of this terror attack. And my anger has been at the ineptitude of the authorities that have been ordained to look after us. Brilliant officers and police personnel have laid down their lives for us. I can only but salute them and respect their sincerity in the call of duty.” He now refuses to participate in former US President Clinton’s Clinton Global Initiative as a result of this heinous attack. He wrote in his blog that he had made this decision only to remain besides his country men. He wrote, “I cancelled. I am NOT going to leave my country in this troubled hour to travel to a foreign land to lend cause to a foreign initiative, patronized and guided by a foreigner, for his benefit!! I need to see initiative here in my country.” He also went on saying, “I am NOT going to sing and dance at a time when my country and city bleeds, even though the funds collected were going to be for charity. They can keep their initiative to themselves.”

Criticizing the political system, he commented, “Cynical and provocative text come in describing the ridiculous utterances of the system and those that run it. And actions to placate themselves of dire circumstances, prevail among ruling governance.” He also shared his frustration with the readers of his blog saying, “Never ever have I observed the extent of extreme anger in each and every individual of this country towards those that sit in the seat of authority and system and power.”

He concluded his chapter saying, “This is a determined and definite citizen. A citizen that has decided that everyone of them needs to become his own vigilante. For his sake and for the sake of his country. I endorse that sentiment.”
