The combination of England, Scotland, and Wales constitute the Great Britain.

 The 1707 Acts of Union brought the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England together to form the united Kingdom of Great Britain. The unification of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801, led to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
