STEP MOTHERLY TO JUDICIARY

STEP MOTHERLY TO JUDICIARY

Supreme Court bench hearing petition for a single court-premises in Delhi has rightly pointed out towards step-motherly treatment towards judiciary in terms of infra-structural facilities not only in the capital rather even worse in other district-courts all over the country. Even the former union Law Minister Arun Jaitely rightly opined that even store-rooms and corridors are at many places converted into court-rooms.

It is worth-noting that those in legislature get extra luxurious facilities both at workplaces and residences not only during their tenure, but even after retirement together with huge government-bungalows for retired Presidents, Vice Presidents, Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers and others even after their demitting offices. Even spouses of these are provided to retain bungalows with government-provided facilities for their complete life. If government cannot spend on such facilities for retired senior judges and bureaucrats, then there is no justification in giving such facilities to senior ones in legislature retired from high posts.

Having a single court-premises aimed to be adequate for next at least two decades for complete Delhi with High Court and all District Courts at some huge site connected by Metro, Bus and rail service will definitely be an ideal aspect in interest of all concerned.
