FREEBIES FOR CRICKETERS BCCI has showered yet other package of offerings for ultra-rich Indian cricketers in its bid to prevent them tilting towards ICL. Cricket has developed to be a national craze for Indians, and BCCI funds generated out of love for cricket in is public-money which must not be allowed to be used like freebies for playing politics in Indian cricket. Creation of Indian Cricket League could only be resulted because of a highly mismanaged Board of Cricket Control in . In national interest, cricket-affairs should be well-managed by drastic modification in BCCI constitution. Dummy membership developed by BCCI office-bearers in a selfish bid to hold control on BCCI should be effectively checked. One-man one-post principle should be applicable in BCCI so as not to allow a Union Minister or some other over-occupied person to be BCCI President. There should also be a ban on showering public-money or state-resources for individual performances of cricketers like was done by Jharkhand government in awarding costly plot of land and Rupees five lakhs for his once 186 unbeaten runs in a Jaipur one-dayer.
