ATTACK ON TASLIMA NASREEN It is surprising and regretting that Andhra Pradesh government deliberately avoided instant arrest of persons attacking Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreena even though police was present at the time of attack, and an MLA amongst attackers publicly owned responsibility for the attack before media-persons. Even no one from Union government has condemned the attack. Is it not all part of policy of pseudo-secularism? Out of so many Commissions like NHRC or Minority Commission and other government functionaries, there is no authority to take note of such open attack on a foreign national. If views of Taslima Nasreena hurt religious sentiments of people, then her visa should not have been extended by the government rather than mutely watching her being attacked by some ones not liking her views. Such attack on a foreign-national with Union and state governments intentionally ignoring the attack adversely affect ’s reputation of being a sensible law-abiding nation.
