Vettel withstands Hamilton challenge to win Spanish Grand Prix
Barcelona, May 22ANI: Reigning Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel resisted huge pressure from McLaren's Lewis Hamilton to take his fourth victory of the year in the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday. Hamilton made a determined late charge, but Vettel took the chequered flag by just 0.6 seconds, The Sun reports. McLaren's Jenson Button finished third ahead of polesitter Mark Webber and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. German Michael Schumacher of Mercedes was sixth fastest followed by teammate Nico Rosberg. Renault's Nick Heidfeld was eighth, with the Sauber drivers Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi took the final two points positions. Vettel's win was his fourth in five races and means he now has 118 points in the drivers' championship, 41 more than Hamilton with Webber 10 points further adrift in third. Red Bull lead the constructors' championship with 185 points, with McLaren second on 138. ANI
