Kabul, May 25ANI: NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen has expressed concern over the security of Pakistan's nuclear weapons following the Taliban attack on Karachi's Mehran Naval Station on Sunday. Four to six Taliban terrorists entered PNS Mehran on Sunday night, destroying two US-supplied maritime surveillance aircraft and killing ten military personnel during their 17-hour siege of the naval air base. A day after the worst assault on a Pakistani military base in two years, the NATO head admitted that the security of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is a matter of concern. "Based on the information and intelligence we have, I feel confident that Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is safe and well protected. But of course, it is a matter of concern and we follow the situation closely," Al Jazeera quoted Rasmussen, as saying. Rasmussen was speaking in Afghanistan, where he met Afghan President Hamid Karzai to discuss the transition of security from NATO-led troops to Afghan security forces, which is due to begin in July.
