InternationalI have fellas in different parts of the world: Duffy
London,
Oct 31 IANS Welsh
singer Duffy says she has
men all over the world who keep her entertained and that she keeps in touch with them through
phone.Thesun.co.uk
reports her saying: "I have fellas in all different parts of the world. There are a couple of good-
looking gentlemen dotted around to keep me entertained. I have different
phones which
work in different areas. I lost my English one so the English guy is
just going to have to understand. "Getting to spend time with them is another thing. It's all based on a little bit of
text banter. My
phone bill was a whopper last month. There is one guy who is a
plumber. He keeps coming in and out but he's a text pest."Duffy is currently touring the world to promote her album "Rockferry".--Indo-

Melbourne, October 25 ANI: Guy Ritchie has apparently claimed that his
marriage to Madonna took the tumble when the
singer began scheduling their sex life in her diary, adjusting it after her workout sessions. The 40-year-old reportedly revealed that Madonna regulated her life with such a strict routine that she had even started
planning their private moments well in advance. The Brit director claimed he was put off from spending time with his wife since she chose to prioritise her fixation with the exercising routines and Kabbalah
religion.'With her time being so precious to her, and with there being more important things to her like spending three of four hours in the
gym every day, it become just another thing in the diary," the Daily Telegraph quoted a source, as telling the Daily
Mail."In the last couple of years, it was
all schemed into the diary. "'Guy of course felt this a tremendous turn-off to be at the same level of importance as, for example, her
gym sessions and kabbalah
meetings. "As a consequence, their sex life died more than a year ago. It is no exaggeration to say that they had not shared a
bed in a year when the
divorce was announced. "And when the sex died for them, the
marriage was doomed," the source added. ANI

Washington, Oct 26 ANI: A Northern Arizona
University researcher is studying a
cane toad from
Suriname in order to understand the speed, power and
energy behind it's ability to capture prey with its tongue. Her studies may shed new light on how muscles function more as springs than motors. This new perspective may
help in the development of more efficient
electric motors, better prostheses and new
medical treatments for neuromuscular
diseases like Parkinson's. The jaw muscles of toad can
produce forces greater than 700 times the animal's
weight. "The best
electric motor achieves about one-third of that force-to-
weight ratio," Live
Science quoted Nishikawa, as saying."When a toad or chameleon captures prey with its tongue, it exerts force over a distance. Figuring out how they do it has immense application to any device that actually moves," she added. ANI

Washington, Oct 26 ANI: A new
research has confirmed for the first time that normal skin can become drier from creams. The findings are based on Izabela Buraczewska's study, in which she looked at what happens to the skin at the molecular level and also what positive and negative effects creams have on the skin. Her
research has revealed that differences in the pH of creams do not seem to play any role. She also studied different
oils in a seven-week
treatment period, but no difference was established between mineral
oil and a
vegetable oil. Both
oils resulted in the skin being less able to cope with external stresses. However,
treatment with a more complex cream compound resulted in more resistant skin with no
signs of dryness.Tissues samples taken from the treated skin areas also show that the weakening of the skin's protective barrier can be tied to changes in the
activity of certain genes involved in
producing skin fats, among other functions. The researchers concluded that the contents of creams impact these effects on the skin. This knowledge enhances the potential to develop creams that reinforce the skin's protective barrier in a positive way, without making the skin drier. "My findings show that creams differ and that knowledge of the effect of various ingredients is important for us to be able to tailor the
treatment to various skin types,"
Science Daily quoted Buraczewska, as saying. ANI

NAT24National/ReligionGuruvayoor priests protest colleagues' suspension over
cigarette in prasadamGuruvayoor
Kerala Oct 18 IANS Junior priests in Kerala's famed Sree Krishna Guruvayoor
temple Saturday decided to delay the preparation of prasadam holy offering to protest the suspension of four of their colleagues following the discovery of a
cigarette stub in the prasadam. Four junior priests keezhu shantis were suspended Friday after they were held responsible for the presence of the
cigarette stub in the prasadam, which was found by a devotee from
Bangalore Oct 11.Everyday at 5 a.m devotees queue up to receive the prasadam, which is kept ready by keezhu shantis by 4.30 a.m. However, the
distribution of the holy offering was delayed by about 90 minutes Saturday since the priests took an inordinate amount of time to prepare the prasadam to protest the suspension of their colleagues."Since the keezhu shantis were on a 'go slow' mode there was a delay of 90 minutes. They demanded that we certify
all the raw material they use to make the prasadam and revoke the suspension of the four junior priests. We agreed to the former demand but not the latter,"
temple official P.A. Ashok Kumar told IANS."There are about 178 keezhu shantis who are drawn from 13 nampoothiri Brahmin
families and do the
work of preparing the
food in the
temple. They are not employees but are here on the basis of hereditary rights. They are given a
share of the
collection made out of the
sale of
food items," Kumar added.--Indo-Asian
