Fiery Protest casts Shadow in America |
|
It is the time for revolution! Well, it may be an exaggeration but witnessing the international mood of protests against the parade of Olympic torch one can certainly state revolution is here. There is simply no doubt in it that this attitude essential for the fabrication of ideal human beings has largely been absent in the global spectrum for decades. The series of human rights violations perpetrated by China has brought the conscious human beings under one platform, and that is of protest. This internal saga of protest that has attained a momentum, thanks to the uproar it created against the parade of the flaming Olympic torch in both Paris and London, has finally reached the mainland of America. In the very recent days three people were spotted while protesting against China’s human rights record and the impending arrival of the Olympic torch in the country. The three protesters in a desperate mood climbed up the Golden Gate Bridge and tied the Tibetan flag and two banners to its cables. In the banners it was clearly written "One World One Dream. Free Tibet" and "Free Tibet." Well, this is in no way a whimsical act or emanating from any insanity since the three wore helmets and harnesses as they made their way up the cables running next to the south tower of the famed span. The ascent suspended several dozen feet above traffic making it a difficult job for the security agencies to bring them down. Well, this is no way an example of any stray incident and is destined to show its true color during the impending relay of the Olympic torch in San Francisco, its only North American stop. There are definite reasons to worry since any failure to prevent the angry protesters from damaging the venue may not only dampen the spirit of the event but also can lead to ignited misapprehensions between US and China, if not more.
