Yuvvraaj is a typical Subhas Ghai film with its old grandeur and style of narration but without a strong script, although it deals with a very good story line. It’s about reunion of estranged brothers, it’s about love. The story has a tale of three brothers of a billionaire father and how they reunite again after their father’s death to snatch their shares and how their greed for money unwillingly brings them together at the end of the story.

Deven Yuvraj, played by Salman Khan is kicked out from the Yuvraj family at an early age. When he learns about his father’s death, he becomes most happy person in the universe as he hates his father. He wants to get a chance to bag a big share of inheritance only to marry his love Anushka, played by Katrina Kaif. Anushka has a capricious father, played by Boman Irani who is a doctor and who does not want her daughter to marry a ‘gali ka kutta’, referred to Salman Khan.

Gyanesh Yuvraj, played by Anil Kapoor is the oldest of the Yuvraj brothers. He is an autistic. As his father loved him the most, he named him the inheritor of the major part his entire wealth before dying. Danny Yuvraj, played by Zayed Khan is the youngest Yuvraj brother. He is a spoilt brat and only fond of gambling, planes, and women. When he learns that he is getting nothing but few pennies from his father’s riches, he also inherits Deven’s strategy to befool their older brother to get the major share of the property.

There is an evil uncle of the Yuvvraaj brothers, played by Anjan Shrivastava, who eyes on the huge property of the Yuvvraaj family and dreams that when these three brothers will part, he will be the only inheritor of their wealth.

Anil Kapoor in the role of a retard has given a splendid performance. Salman Khan is good in few scenes and so is Zayed Khan. Katrina Kaif looks stunningly gorgeous but fails to act at least half of her beauty. A.R Rahman’s music sometimes reminds us about the A.R Rahman genre of music and most of the times fail to create an impact on the audience’s mind. Subhas Ghai’s narrative method is graceful but seems to be little outdated to the young cinegoers. And finally, if Ghai would reduce the quotient of melodrama from the film, the flick would definitely appeal double to the viewers. As a result, all it remains is an audio-visual wonder without a soul.
