Movie- Dostana |
|
Starring- Director- Tarun Mansukhani Dostana is a love story or should we say it’s a story of gay sexuality? Well, whatever the story be of Dostana, it must be anonymously admitted that it’s a story of friendship. Two friends Sam and Kunal, played by Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham lived in Miami. Sam was a male nurse while Kunal was a professional photographer. They could not get a house on rent because they were both single and young. They both eyed for a beautiful apartment in Miami. Then appeared Neha, played by Priyanka Chopra, a hot chick working for Verve magazine. She lived in the twosome’s desired apartment which was her aunt’s but her aunt did not want two young chaps to give the rooms on rent. Then the actual turning point of the story turned up. Sam and Kunal told Neha that they were a gay couple. Sam and Kunal easily convinced her aunt and Neha with their lie and shifted in the apartment. They shared two rooms with Neha in the apartment. Gradually, the threesome turned into good friends. And with time both Sam and Kunal started loving Neha secretly. But as they told Neha that they were gay, they had to act and pretend like gays all the time. This was not a problem until they came across Neha’s gay boss played by Boman Irani and Sam’s old fashioned Punjabi mother played by Kirron Kher. On the one hand Sam and Kunal fell in love with Neha and Neha in turn loved her new boss, played by Bobi Deol. All in all, Dostana is a good entertainer with full of gay gags and banter. Abhshek Bachchan is the main attraction of the film while John is no more than an eye candy with the same old few facial expressions. Priyanka looks superhot in the flick. Boby Deol’s character is a bit out of shape. There is a sequence where Sam and Kunal bully Boby and an editor of Verve is easily becomes their prey. The only gay character of the movie, the characterof Priyanka Chopra’s boss, played by Boman Irani wins the race. The Punjabi mother, Kirron Kher has overacted in some of the scenes. More over, has the director, Tarun Mansukhani shortened the length of the film by 20 minutes, Dostana would be more acceptable to the viewers. Posted by subhasis on Monday Nov 17 reply Comments |
