We saw Farhan Akhtar as an excellent film maker in his debut film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, follwed by ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Don’. Now he has proved himself to be equally talented in acting in his acting debut ‘Rock On’.

 ‘Rock On’ brings a fresh air in the industry in terms of music, acting, characterization, and screen-play. It’s about ‘MAGIK’, a musical band of four friends, Adi played by Farhan, Rob played Luke Kenny, KD played by Purab Kohli and Joe played by Arjun Rampal. In the course of time, they were split and reunited after ten years. Meanwhile, all of them had chosen their respective careers, but still hold a common passion- the passion for music. Adi becomes a successful businessman, but an unsuccessful husband; Rob works in ad jingles; KD helps his father in his business; and Joe, a struggling guitarist. Debbie, Joe’s wife, an aspiring stylist turns into a nagging wife, spends her day in her in-laws’ family fishing business. Sakshi, Adi’s wife seems to be lost in finding reasons of her husband’s unhappiness.

 All these tangles starts straightening, when Sakshi arranges a surprise birthday party for Adi and invites all the old MAGIK friends.  They rehearsed after ten years but still feel the magic within.

 ‘Rock On’ is a must-watch for all friends. It’s all about friendship, music, and passion. ‘Rock On’ tells us the story of four friends, with their emotions, losses, misunderstanding, and finally rejuvenation.

 Characterization of every character is rightly done. Sahana Goswami as Debbie deserves special mention for reflecting enough potential as an actor. The portrayal of Rob by Luke Kenny is never the less perfect. Tele-Bahu, Prachi Desai as Sakshi Shroff appears as simple and gorgeous as the role demands. Finally, it’s Abhishek Kapoor, the captain of the ship, who manages to narrate the story in such a simple and subtle way that we can not help but to ROCK ON!!.
