Karachi, May 28ANI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM chief Altaf Hussain has lashed out at the Pakistan Army and the Inter Services Intelligence ISI, saying that they are 'infected with cancer'. In a telephonic address to the MQM General Workers meeting simultaneously at 35 locations, Altaf said that various parts of the Pakistan Army and the ISI were infected with cancer. 'If some people in the army and military are hand in glove with the Taliban, then they should be dealt with. We have to eliminate the problem without forgetting the sacrifices rendered by them," The Daily Times quoted Altaf, as saying. The MQM chief pointed out that over 80 percent of the budget was spent on defence and its allied institutions. He also warned that Pakistan would have to face dire consequences, if appropriate action was not taken against the ISI and the army. Altaf also accused the government of not guiding the people of Pakistan correctly. "The nation is being fooled that the nuclear assets are safeguarded. This national security agency should answer the nation in this regard," he demanded. He said that the country was passing through the most critical juncture in its history, and asked the people whether they wanted the country's security or wanted to see the country obliterated from the face of the world. "To die is only once but if the security of the country can be safeguarded he was ready to die," he added. ANI Posted by aniin on Sunday May 29 reply Comments |
