New York, May 24 ANI: Dominique Strauss-Kahn's friends secretly contacted the impoverished family of the hotel maid, who has accused the former International Monetary Fund IMF chief of raping her, and offered them money to withdraw the case. The maid reportedly has an extended family in the former French colony of Guinea in West Africa that lacks paved roads, electricity and phone lines. "They already talked with her family. For sure, it's going to end up on a quiet note," the New York Post quoted a French businesswoman with close ties to Strauss-Kahn and his family, as saying. Although the prosecutors have kept the maid in protective custody, the source believes that Strauss-Kahn's friends have succeeded in convincing her family to withdraw the case. "He'll get out of it and will fly back to France. He won't spend time in jail. The woman will get a lot of money," said the source, adding that a seven-figure sum has been offered. It was reported earlier in the day that traces of Strauss-Kahn's sperm were found on the dress of the maid. French news website Atlantico.fr published an exclusive report about the findings, stating: "These tests were performed on samples taken by police after the sexual assault victim says he Strauss-Kahn was with the maid at the Sofitel Hotel on Saturday, May 14."
