Lahore, May 30ANI: Pakistan's security agencies have arrested a former Pakistan Navy commander and his brother for alleged involvement in last week's terror attack on naval-cum-air force base PNS Mehran in Karachi. According to The Dawn, former Navy commander Kamran Malik and his brother Zaman Malik were arrested in Lahore. They have been identified by PNS Mehran case suspects arrested earlier from Faisalabad and Karachi. Kamran, who was court-martialed 10 years ago on charges of torture, had been posted at PNS Mehran and PNS Iqbal. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan TTP had carried out the attack on May 22, which killed 18 military personnel and wounded 16. According to the US and Western intelligence sources, the attack was far more dangerous than the 2009 Pakistan Army General Headquarters attack, and was better planned and more rehearsed than the previous attacks. It was the biggest attack on the Navy and its assets since 1971. ANI Posted by aniin on Tuesday May 31 reply Comments |
