'Brave' Prince William saves heart attack victim stranded on mountain |

London, May 9 ANI: Prince William has been hailed a hero after he flew to the rescue of retired judge Nick Barnett who suffered a heart attack nearly 3,000ft up in Snowdonia. On his first day back on duty after his marriage, the Prince was at the controls of a Sea King helicopter as the 70-year-old was flown to hospital within the vital 'golden hour' for coronary care. From his bed on the ward, Judge Barnett - who spent most of his career in Hong Kong - told of his gratitude for William's life-saving skill. Before he travelled to North Wales with his Army officer son Giles, 31, the judge's wife Philomena had even quipped that it would be 'amazing' if they were picked up by the Prince while hiking on the mountains. "I'm very grateful to Prince William and the entire helicopter crew and the member of the Llanberis mountain rescue team who came to my aid and was extremely helpful," the Daily Mail quoted Barnett, a father-of-two, as saying. "You see all the TV documentaries about the air-sea rescue teams and it all looks hair-raising. "Until it happens to you, you don't appreciate the skill and bravery they show. 'They were firmly within the golden hour,' his relieved son added. 'The sound of the helicopter was a great relief," he added. ANI Posted by aniin on Tuesday May 10 reply Comments |
