Complimentary Notions of a Larger Discipline |
|
There are in fact many people who do not consider ethics and responsibility or the preservation of these as a necessary part of business. To them it is at all a trivial issue that is dwindling down with the passing of years since nowadays pragmatism and prudence are of more importance. These terms, to them, have no meaning and do represent two different domains, which always happen to be at loggerheads. But what they do not understand is that the saga of ethics and responsibility is of highest importance in business and grasps the entire proceeding of business under its sway. This, as have been opined by pundits, exists as a specialized form of study regarding the apprehension and also execution of moral right and wrong. On the other hand it gives attention to the notion of moral standards and its application in the segment of institutions, polices and behavior of business that are essential for the smooth progress of the modern society enabling the relation between demand and supply to exist. Bear in mind that business is by and large a cooperative activity that depends largely on the foundation of ethics and responsibility. The reason is at every level of ascendancy or even to exist there is the need of ethical behavior. For instance, if the staff of any company comes to the consideration that it is morally permissible for them to adopt unethical methods like stealing, fraudulence and also breach of contract, the very company will not take much time to close down its shutters forever. This indicates that no business, irrespective of small or big, can exist without the proper application of ethics and responsibility. It is to be noted that the concept of responsibility evolves from the understanding of ethics and nothing else. To conclude business and ethics and responsibility are complimentary to each other. For which it is always necessary to promote ethical behavior both among its own members in addition to within the larger society. Posted by subhasis on Friday May 02 reply Comments |
