BLUE LINE BUSES IN DELHI |

BLUE LINE BUSES Mere suspension of license of the killer blue-line bus in Delhi on 01.07.2007 is not enough. Owner of the bus needs to be punished by auction of the bus and to give auction-money to family of the victim-child. Further since this accident is in itself a unique example of negligent attitude of bus drivers and owners, the arrested person claiming himself to be the killer-driver at the time of accident should be put to lie-detecting test because there can be cases when persons can be hired for claiming guilt. Eye-witnesses have revealed that a boy much less of those than arrested was said to have been driving the bus at time of accident. With Metro Rail services already quite popular, Delhi government should consider withdrawal of private-operated buses from DTC routes. Union government can grant additional funds to supplement DTC fleet for complete take over of local bus-routes by DTC. Instead school bus-service may be completely handed over to private operators with schools imposed responsibility to supervise proper operation of privately-operated buses.
