Rudy Giuliani emerges as top candidate for 2012 Republican presidential bid: Poll

Washington, May 28ANI: Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has emerged as a top candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential primary field in the latest poll, even though he has not yet jumped into the fray. Giuliani, with 16 per cent support, narrowly edged former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who is currently slated as the party's front-runner because of his name recognition. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin received 13 per cent, Texas Congressman Ron Paul stood at 12 per cent while pizza magnate Herman Cain garnered 10 per cent support. The poll of 473 likely Republican voters conducted by CNN between May 24 and May 26,The Telegraph reports. The poll also showed that more Republican voters were sensing weakness in their party's contenders than in a survey taken four years ago. Some 39 per cent said they were "not very satisfied" or "not satisfied at all" with the current choices, against 26 per cent making those responses in May 2007. House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are among the most popular candidates whom voters would like to bid for the presidential elections. ANI
