Need for Vigor to Search Back Issues |
|
Nowadays it is not at all a problem if you are looking for any particular issue of any book or magazine, even of the last year. Simply you can log on the Internet and go through that very issue, or its online version. In this way if you want to obtain the back issues of books and magazines the Internet can be a great way. However, at the same time it should also be accepted that you would not be able to get all through one click, and for this there is a need to be watchful. But this situation is certainly better than the past, when several years back you would have to go to the library to find back issues of magazines. But in the present days there are so many on the market today that even the local libraries cannot keep up with the publications. The back issues of magazines, which are kept for three years at a stretch in many libraries, in the beginning circulate for two weeks. Back issues of magazines stored in libraries are located in bound volumes or are on microfilm. If you are not familiar with these systems it will be better to ask the library staff to provide you with a short tuition on the basics and you will surely pick up how you do the rest as you proceed. Personally, being a political scientist I have to deal with the back issues of books and magazines, for which I have to visit both the Internet and libraries of repute very often. But on the other hand, in the recent days regardless of a lot of library visits, my computer has been the single most used source of information when it comes to back issues of everything from trivia to finding back issues of specialist magazines.
